Healthy Relationships Mentoring

At HOPE, we believe that an understanding of healthy relationships is vital to successfully navigating the world around us. Whether they’re family, romantic, or friendship, our lives are filled with relationships, and they require work. That’s why we’re happy to offer a supportive listening ear, sound advice, or a different perspective regarding parent/child relationships, romantic relationships, and/or reproductive health.

All conversations are confidential and non-judgemental, and you can trust that we will always treat you with honesty, compassion, and respect.

Pregnancy Test and Options Counseling

Think you might be pregnant? Do any of these sound familiar?

  • I’ve missed a period

  • I feel like throwing up sometimes

  • My breasts feel tender

  • I have to pee more often

  • I’m more tired than usual

  • I’m having mood swings

Pregnancy doesn’t always cause the above symptoms, and if you are sexually active, you could become pregnant, even when using birth control and/or contraceptives. The only sure way to know if you’re pregnant is by taking a pregnancy test.

At HOPE, you can take a free, self-administered pregnancy test to see if you might be pregnant.

If you are pregnant, what happens next is up to you. We’ll talk with you about your options and provide referrals for medical providers with whom you can discuss your reproductive health. We’ll provide compassionate support and a listening ear as you figure out what your next steps are.

Whatever decision you make, you are not alone. We have resources and programs to help you have a healthy future and rebuild your plan.

Parent Mentoring

Parenting is one of the most rewarding and difficult experiences that life has to offer.

At HOPE, we understand that babies don’t come with owner’s manuals, so we offer parent mentoring classes. Each session is client-led and based on the needs that the client expresses in the moment. HOPE uses the evidence-based BrightCourse curriculum to offer assistance with a wide variety of parenting issues. These video lessons are generally 15 - 30 minutes long and can be watched from anywhere! Our trained client services administrators then follow up with you to answer questions, discuss concerns, and offer support to make sure that you feel empowered on your parenting journey.

If you are interested in more in-depth assistance, we can provide referrals to community partners who specialize in your area of concern and with whom we work closely to ensure that your specific needs are met.

Material Assistance

HOPE offers the Baby Boutique to ensure that parents have the material items they need to take care of their children.

The Baby Boutique is available to all clients and community partners free of charge. It is stocked with new and gently used items donated by community members, and available items often include maternity and infant to 4t clothes, children’s shoes, bottles, formula, pack-n-plays, strollers, high chairs, and baby carriers.

Clients earn Baby Bucks for participating in parenting classes and other learning activities at HOPE and within the community; they can use these Baby Bucks to "purchase" items from the Baby Boutique. Each client also receives one pack of diapers per month during their first year of service without having to spend any Baby Bucks.
